Terms
Last updated 11 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between your business and JP Anime Ltd ("we", "us"), which runs Recycler Daily. By creating an account and ticking to agree, you accept them on behalf of your business. Our Privacy notice explains how we handle personal data.
1. The service
Recycler Daily lets permitted waste receiving sites record loads and send them to DEFRA's Digital Waste Tracking service. It covers DEFRA reporting only: not waste transfer notes, hazardous consignment notes, invoicing or stock.
Recycler Daily is self-service. We don't provide one-to-one support or customer service. You can report bugs and send suggestions from inside the app (More, then Report a bug). We may improve, change or remove features over time; we'll tell you before removing anything you rely on.
2. Who can use it
Recycler Daily is for businesses, not consumers. You must be 18 or over and allowed to act for the business you sign up for.
3. Your account and sites
- Keep your login safe, and only share a site with people who should have access. You're responsible for what they do on it.
- Each site belongs to the business that holds its permit. Only add sites you are entitled to report for, using your own DEFRA API Code.
- Each permit can only be used by one site in Recycler Daily: the first one DEFRA accepts a load from. If your colleagues need access, share that site with them instead of adding it again.
- If people disagree about who should control a site (for example after staff leave), we'll decide based on who holds the permit and the site's DEFRA API Code, and we may ask for proof. A site's admins can also use "Ask to become admin" if every admin has been away for 2 months.
4. Your responsibilities
- The details you enter must be accurate and complete. You remain responsible for reporting to DEFRA on time, for what is reported, and for following waste law.
- Only enter personal data about others (for example carriers) that you are allowed to share.
- Keep your own copy of your records for as long as the law requires. Recycler Daily is not a records archive.
- You can download all your data at any time, free, in the columns of DEFRA's Receipt of Waste spreadsheet (More → Import & export), including after you stop buying credits. Loads you import are never sent to DEFRA until you press Send; loads you import as already reported are kept as records only.
- Don't misuse the service: no false reports, no attempts to break, overload or copy it, and no access to sites that aren't shared with you.
5. Credits and payment
- One credit is used for each load DEFRA accepts. Drafts, rejected loads and corrections to accepted loads are free.
- Each permit gets 5 free credits once, when DEFRA accepts its first load. We may change or end this offer, and any promotion, at any time without notice. Free credits already given stay valid until they expire.
- Credits cost £1 each and are bought for one site, 10 to 500 at a time. Payments are taken by Stripe.
- Auto top-up is off unless you turn it on. When on, it buys your chosen amount on your saved card when the site has fewer than 5 credits, at the current price (see the next points). You can turn it off or remove the card at any time.
- Credits are prepaid credit for sending loads to DEFRA. They aren't money, have no cash value, give you no ownership or property rights, and can't be exchanged, sold or moved to another site.
- Credits belong to the site they were bought for. If the site is shared or handed to someone else, its credits stay with the site.
- Paid credits expire 12 months after you buy them. Free credits expire 3 months after they're given (free credits given before 10 October 2026 keep 12 months). Free credits are used before paid ones, older credits first, and the Credits page shows when your next ones expire.
- Credits are also lost if the site closes for inactivity (see 6), or if you delete the site or ask us to delete your account.
- Credits are not refundable, except where we charged you by mistake or twice, credits were used by someone without your permission, a fault on our side stopped you sending loads, or the law requires a refund.
- Free credits have no cash value and are never refunded.
- If a card payment is disputed or reversed, we remove the credits it bought and may pause the site until it's settled.
- We may cancel credits obtained by fraud or misuse, for example sites created only to collect free credits.
- If we stop providing Recycler Daily, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice and stop selling credits. After it ends, we'll refund any unused paid credits.
- We may change the price of credits at any time, without notice. A new price applies only to credits bought after the change: you always pay the price shown before you pay. Credits you have already bought keep their value: one credit always sends one load.
- Auto top-up charges your saved card without you seeing the price, so if the price goes up we'll email the site at least 14 days before auto top-ups use the new price. Until then they stay at the old price.
- Prices are shown in pounds. We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added. If that changes, we'll tell you before VAT applies.
- DEFRA's yearly waste tracking charge is separate and paid to DEFRA.
6. Inactive sites
A site with no loads or credit purchases for 6 months is closed after three email warnings. Its records are deleted 90 days after it closes, and any unused credits on it are lost. Download your records before then.
7. Your data and our software
- Your data is yours. You own the load details and other information you enter. You let us store and use it only to run Recycler Daily for you, send it to DEFRA, and keep the service secure.
- The software is ours. Recycler Daily, its design and code belong to us. You get the right to use it while these terms apply, but not to copy, resell or rebuild it.
- Feedback: if you send a bug report or suggestion, we may use it to improve Recycler Daily without paying you or owing you anything.
- Naming you as a customer: we may show a site's name on our website and marketing as a Recycler Daily customer. Only the name: never its loads or other details. A site admin can turn this off at any time (Sites → the site → Our website), and we remove it within 14 days.
- Reviews: sending a review means ticking the box that lets us show it, with your name and job title, on our website and marketing. Delete it in the app (More → Leave a review) to take it down.
8. Data processing
For load details that include personal data (for example carrier names or vehicle registrations), your business is the controller and we process it on your behalf. When we do, we:
- only use it to provide Recycler Daily and to follow your instructions in the app, unless the law requires otherwise;
- make sure anyone who can access it is bound to keep it confidential;
- keep it secure, and tell you without undue delay if a breach affects it;
- only use the providers listed in our Privacy notice, and tell you before we add another;
- help you answer requests from people about their data, and with any data protection checks you need to do;
- delete it when the site is deleted or closes (see 6), unless the law requires us to keep it; and
- give you the information you reasonably need to show we meet these duties.
9. Confidentiality and security
We keep your business information confidential and only share it as described in these terms and our Privacy notice. You keep any non-public information about Recycler Daily confidential too. Tell us straight away if you think your login or a site has been misused.
10. Other services we rely on
Recycler Daily depends on DEFRA's Digital Waste Tracking service, Stripe for payments, and providers for hosting and email. We aren't responsible for their outages, decisions or delays. If DEFRA's service is unavailable, loads are saved and sent automatically when it's back.
11. Availability
We aim to keep Recycler Daily available at all times, but can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need short maintenance breaks, and we try to do them at quiet times. Keep your own copy of your records (see 4).
12. Liability
- We aren't liable for losses caused by inaccurate or late information you enter, or by DEFRA's or other providers' services.
- We aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost business or fines arising from your reporting.
- Our total liability in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months.
- You'll cover our reasonable costs if someone makes a claim against us because of information you entered or sent through Recycler Daily, or because you broke these terms or the law.
- We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as power or internet failures, or government action.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
13. Ending
You can stop using Recycler Daily at any time, and delete sites DEFRA never verified from inside the app. To have your account deleted, email hello@recyclerdaily.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk, and will tell you why unless the law prevents us. Sections 5, 7, 12 and 15 still apply after an account ends.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll email you at least 30 days before an important change takes effect. If you keep using Recycler Dailyafter that, the new terms apply.
15. Disputes and law
If something goes wrong, email hello@recyclerdaily.com first and we'll try to sort it out within 30 days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts can settle any dispute.
16. General
- These terms and our Privacy notice are the whole agreement between us about Recycler Daily.
- We may transfer this agreement to another company, for example if Recycler Daily is renamed, reorganised or sold; your rights stay the same. You can't transfer it without our agreement.
- If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Only you and we have rights under these terms; no one else can enforce them.
- We'll send notices to the email address on your account. Send notices to us at hello@recyclerdaily.com.
